Selected Monologues and Poems

This collection of humorous monologues and poems is in the tradition of well known works such as ‘Albert and the Lion’ by Marriott Edgar and famously performed by Stanley Holloway. As a young girl Olive would recite these at local concerts and, having been born and brought up in Maghull near Liverpool, as an adult she found it natural to write in the Lancashire idiom.Monologues and poems in the Lancashire idiom, written with humour and a touch of nostalgia. These work really well when spoken aloud.
