Before Mr. Darcy can profess how ardently he loves and admires Elizabeth Bennet in Kent, Colonel Fitzwilliam reveals to the young lady the news that Darcy saved a dear friend from marrying the wrong woman. The colonel thinks perhaps it was Mr. Bingley and Elizabeth knows it must have been.Hours later, Mr. Darcy proposes.
