In a dystopian society, prisons have been replaced by islands, each corresponding to a different crime. After 17 year old Brie Vanguard was framed for a crime she didn't commit, she is sent to the islands, a ruling she takes as a guaranteed death sentence. With the help of a mysterious boy, Brie must fight for her freedom and find a way to survive against all odds.By the year 2171, climate change has devastated the former United States, now the Northern American Alliance.
