A Pride and Prejudice variation.
Fitzwilliam Darcy finds a wrecked carriage while on his way home to his estate of Pemberley. The only survivor is a young lady who is escaping a very dark and horrifying past. Taking the name Julia Moreland, the young lady is under the protection of Mr Darcy, allowing her to recover from a brutal history of domestic abuse. Hiding Miss Moreland from her husband is the only way Darcy can protect her and the family she has been torn from for nearly three years. But will it be enough?
