Can a basset hound, two kittens and twin girls succeed as matchmakers? Amy, a hard-working single mom, and her seven-year-olds find a pair of golden tabby kittens out in the snow and bring them into the church basement. The night is bitterly cold. One person whispers to Amy that he probably saw the kittens' mother by the side of the road beyond help. Touched by the plight of the tiny orphans, Amy readily agrees to adopt the kittens for her girls. After a long exhausting day, the local veterinarian, Dr. Jake, is also there for the church's winter potluck with his basset hound, Bummer. Dr. Jake checks out the kittens and is glad when Amy adopts them. The local animal shelter is full to capacity. HOWEVER, Bummer also "adopts" the kittens.
