Although for most busy nurses, the pressure of an intensive hospital routine is demandingly wearing, to Nora Hilton, beset at home by the demands of a selfish and irresponsible family, the hospital meant rest and relaxation. She loved her work, and she also loved Dr. Paul Anderson with whom she worked.This made Nora vulnerable when the doctor, suddenly unsure of his surgical skill and on the point of quitting his profession in despair, turned away from her and seemingly shut her out of his life.
