Surviving Borodino

The slaughter at Borodino saw at least 50,000 dead soldiers and 30,000 dead horses. The carnage from the artillery was at a grotesque level. After the battle the Russians fell back and the French pushed on to Moscow. Left behind were hundreds of badly wounded and dying men.
