Broken Chariots

The biggest chariot race of the year. A wealthy patrician favoured to win. Not if Belbus has anything to do about it... This scrappy bookmaker has made his living taking bets on everything from chariot racing to gladiatorial fights to drunken tavern brawls. No more. He wants out. He wants a quiet life in the countryside, and finally he sees a way to get it. Together with his partner-in-training, Belbus hatches a plot to rig the upcoming race and fund his early retirement. Only problem is, it'll put him in the path of ruthless mercenaries, corrupt politicians, hulking gladiators and wily brothel-keepers. Not to mention the sadistic charioteer at the centre of it all; the man Belbus is trying to blackmail. It's all or nothing for Belbus.
