Chapter 3: Revelation
A few weeks pass and Thomas and Kathy are discharged from the hospital.
Thomas contacts Kathy "I have figured out the code for the Lobotomy Chip, if we compare notes we can document this and go public with it. I found a journalist named John Conroy that works for International News Network." I had contacted Thomas after he gave me a tip on the Lobotomy Chip and Reserved Analysis for a story I was covering.
Kathy replies "Great I got the neurotoxins and neuromedicine formulas I remembered, maybe we can make a counter agent to them."
"Good meet me at the public library on Graymalkin Street; I'll be on one of the computers researching more information."
Thomas was researching new information on an Internet terminal, all of a sudden his Lobotomy Chip activated and he was able to access the Internet with the Lobotomy Chip. He tapped into news databases and downloaded information directly into his brain. "Whoa what a rush, ah yes, that felt good." Thomas thought, "This Lobotomy Chip has advantages once I enabled the networking features, it seems to be able to wirelessly access the Internet and interface with this public computer."
Kathy tapped Thomas on the shoulder "Come here often?" she smiled.
"Ah Kathy, I have this paper for you I wrote on how to modify the Lobotomy Chip and disable the undesired functions." Thomas handed the paper to Kathy.
Thomas I have a paper for you on the chemicals used in the neurotoxins and neuromedicine and how to counter them and provide an antidote for the suicidal neurotoxin. We need to get these papers to John Conroy."
Thomas smiled "I arranged to meet with John at a nearby coffee shop. I was doing some last minute research here and found out the Lobotomy Chip can access the Internet and download info into the brain once the network feature is activated it. They made a big mistake when they used my code and tried to modify it. I know what my code is and what my code is not. I know how to reprogram these chips."
Kathy and Thomas went to the coffee shop and met me at a table. "You must be Thomas Bastion I presume?" I asked.
"Yes I am, guilty as charged." Thomas grinned. "This is Kathy; her work was used on the Lobotomy Chip too. Here are some white papers on how the chip works, how to reprogram it, how to counter the chemicals used, and what undesired functions are programmed into the chip by default and how to remove them."
I spoke "Pleased to meet you both Kathy and Thomas. I've been covering this L-Chip Law and there is more to it than you both know. MindBenderSoft Consolidated is behind the chip and had the companies you both worked for as dummy corporations. They knew you wouldn't work on the chip if you knew what it was going to be used for, so they tricked the both of you and other people too and are behind lobbying for this new law."
"Well I got tricked, and then fired and forced into a mental hospital after I was drugged and it made me suicidal." Thomas frowned. "The chemicals used are on the paper I wrote" Kathy explained to me, "the suicide neurotoxin was a reject because of the side-effects but they decided to use it to force people into mental hospitals to get the chip implanted."
"More bad news" I frowned, "the chip is but one part of their plan for population control and taking control of people's brains. This first chip is for population control and tracking, the second chip is for controlling people's brains and forcing them to do things they wouldn't do. MindBenderSoft is trying to make people into an army of slaves that they can control."
Back at MindBenderSoft Consolidated President and CEO Peter Kline, and his vice president Carrie Palmer are celebrating the passage of the L-Chip Law a few weeks ago and the status report that 10 million people have the chip in their brains so far. Peter was a heavy set man with a beard and glasses. Carrie had long blonde hair and she liked to tease it. "A good test run" Peter smiled as he read the reports on his touch pad. Carrie twitched her hair a bit,
"Yes Peter and the second chip is almost ready for implant. Soon the time-line in the L-Chip Law will allow the install of the second chip."
Peter laughed "Yeah the second chip is bigger, has more features, and we sell it as the latest tech craze and market it as the next big thing. It will make the touch pads obsolete, kill the aging desktop PC, destroy the smart phone, and bring humanity to a new stage of evolution. It will be the cyborg evolution, an evolution that we control."
“Mr. Abbot will be pleased that his investment money was used well, and everything is proceeding as planned.” Carrie laughed.
I took the papers from Thomas and Kathy and said "I'll pass these to my editor. If she approves them I can go public with them. If not, then we'll have to leak them somehow and it might cost me my job, but information and news this important is worth more than a job or career." I left and Thomas and Kathy decided to leave the coffee house and go back to their own different houses to rest. Thomas went to his house to download more information from the Internet, and Kathy went to her house to read up on some more books.
I first went to a safe house run by the OverCrash Cyberpunks; I met with CrashWrite a man with a white Mohawk, tattoos on his arms, and facial piercings. "CrashWrite, I thought you might want to have copies of these papers. You expressed interest in it and came to me about the MindBenderSoft issues."
"Yeah John, thanks, I'll add them to my collection. MindBenderSoft is getting ready to implement the L-Chip 2.0 as the next big technology advancement. But it will fail if it is exposed how these chips work." CrashWrite took the papers and scanned them with his smart phone, and added them to his database.
"If I don't report this news in 24 hours, please leak those papers to the Internet." I spoke. I was worried the story would be buried and people would not know the truth. To me the truth was more important than earning money.
"Yeah man, your GNN stories get buried some times. MindBenderSoft is an advertiser and part owner of GNN through some dummy corporations." CrashWrite said. "See you later CrashWrite, I'm off to see my editor." I said as I left.
CrashWrite examined the documents. He saw that they made sense on how to disable the functions and reprogram the chip. “This Thomas guy is very smart, he may have uses later. Kathy is very smart too; these neuromedicines can revolutionize the way the brain works.”
I went back to his editor Sally Crowley; Sally had brown hair and wore a business pants suit. She was reading over some notes about possible stories and tapping her finger nails on the desk. "Let me take a look at those papers you have for me John." Sally spoke. I handed her the papers, and she read them. "Is this true and factual information?"
Sally asked.
"Yes Ms. Crowley, they are from two of the people who worked on this technology." I spoke and then coughed nervously. I suspected she might be on he take, many companies buy advertising and the wine and dine managers and executives to bury stories or spin them.
"John, MindBenderSoft is ready to release the L-Chip 2.0 and we are going to help promote it worldwide. I cannot jeopardize that with these papers." Sally said with a frown, "Bury this story and don't cover such things."
Peter Kline got a phone call from Sally Crowley, "Mr. Kline all goes according to plan, the story was buried and the L-Chip 2.0 coverage will start soon.”
"Excellent Ms. Crowley," Peter replied, "this will be the next big thing, and people will pay to have the chip implanted instead of forcing it on them."
Carrie Palmer celebrated by opening a bottle of Campaign. "This is going to be glorious", Carrie beamed, "once we get control of people we can start depopulation and whomever we decide to keep alive can buy our products."
I did not report on the story, and after 24 hours CrashWrite released the papers. It was sent all over the Internet. People started to freak out and panic, and some riots got thrown. People got upset over the fact that these L-Chips have the ability to shock them unconscious or dead.
CrashWrite wrote on his blog "Now that the truth about the L-Chip is revealed, people know how rotten MindBenderSoft is and to petition government to reject the chip. Even as
I write this people are protesting. Most have L-Chips in their heads or family members who have them."
Many people protested and decided to camp out in the public. The police used the neurogun on people with L-Chips in their head and caused some to die and others to be shocked into unconsciousness. People, who read the papers that CrashWrite leaked, were able to modify their L-Chip to disable those functions, but not everyone was so lucky. "Ban the L-Chip!" chants started.
After that civil lawsuits were brought against MindBenderSoft, but they were lost as Reserved Analysis was blamed for the death and unconscious functions. Reserved Analysis was disbanded as a result.
Peter Kline laughed as he watched the TV set. "This will all blow over soon enough. Best lawyers money can buy got us off the hook. He can buy back Reserved Analysis for pennies on the dollar, and then sell the IP to another shell corporation."
Carrie Palmer giggled and sipped some champagne, "The public will forget this after a while. Blame everything on Reserved Analysis. We got many more dummy corporations like that out there."
Peter replied "We just need a new marketing gimmick to sell the L-Chip 2.0, after a few years anyway. But first, we shall start a war."
Peter and Carrie laughed.
November was coming up, and 2032 is an election year. The Democrats held a majority of Congress and the White House. Some say the Republicans will run on a ticket that will repeal the L-Chip Law. MindBenderSoft was not concerned about that. They had American Associated Engineering as a dummy corporation that had a new version of the L-Chip 2.0 ready for injured soldiers to use to counter act the mental illnesses from war. It also had bionic limbs and cybernetics to replace body parts of injured soldiers.
Iran was threatening Iraq again. Iraq was asking for help from the United Nations and NATO as Iran started to bomb some of their villages. American Associated Engineering was arming wounded soldiers to get ready for another conflict and more war. MindBenderSoft may have lost a battle, but there are other battles. As long a lobbyists exist and politicians can be rented as well as votes and granting contracts, they can just start all over again in a few years after this new war starts up. People will forget the original L-Chip and get on with their lives. This isn't over yet; it has just started to begin.
Kathy Douglas's brother Luke Douglas was taken to a hospital after his service in a recent war. The process to install bionic limbs and the L-Chip 2.0 had just started. Glenn Winston started his new job as CEO of American Associated Engineering, and had. Victoria Brownferd is in charge of programming the new systems using the original code from the original L-Chip.
"Better make sure to hide that code better Victoria. We don't want a repeat of past failures!" Glenn yelled.
"Will do Boss, I am using encryption now. I didn't use it in the first place because we didn't have much time. We should have more time now." Victoria replies
Carrie spoke “The ruling elites support us now, as do the banks, and government. Our Cybersolider project goes into effect with the Lobotomy Chip 2.0 soon.”
“Yes Carrie, but we have more to do than that. So much more, if we want to have the success we crave. People are a stupid lot, will believe anything they are told as long as it makes sense to them. The media speaks for us and then drops coverage for anything that speaks against us. If anything goes wrong, we burn a dummy corporation and blame it." Peter laughed.
In 2032, things are not always as they seem. People are busy working extra hours or extra jobs to make ends meet. Kathy and Thomas lost their jobs, as did many people in the work force. If solar panels, wind turbine, water turbine, hydrogen cells, geothermic energy, and other real green energy sources were used, prices would not be so high. People would not have to work extra hours or extra jobs. People would not be so sick, sea levels not to high, oil not so high in price.
MindBenderSoft makes sure none of that happens, so they can line their pockets with more wealth, as a majority of the USA suffers. Someday it might spread to the rest of the world as MindBenderSoft has hooks in International groups and businesses. But not yet, first America, and when falls America, so does the rest of the world. Don't be afraid, don't lose hope, educate yourself and join the fight against corporate corruption and control. Wake up, learn the truth, and don’t believe everything you read or hear. Use critical thinking and logical deduction if you must to learn the truth.
